Dan Hyde has been with the City of Las Vegas since 1993 and currently serves as a Fleet and Transportation Services Manager. He was a Fleet Manager for the University of California, San Diego. Dan has been the Coordinator for the Las Vegas Regional Clean Cities Coalition (LVRCCC) since its inception October 18, 1993. He has been the Executive Director of LVRCCC since it's incorporation in December 2000. Dan is very active in the local community serving on various committees; as Chair of the Regional Transportation Commission’s Citizen Advisory Committee, he is a mentor in the National School to Careers Program, City of Henderson’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Educational Excellence and Youth Opportunity, Clark County Air Quality Forum and Technical Advisory sub-committee, City of Las Vegas’ Air Quality Team, and a volunteer for the national syndicated Radio Reading Service with KNPR-FM radio in Las Vegas.

Ron Corbett has worked in the automotive industry since 1972. For over 20 years he has worked in fleet management. His career includes being a Shop Manager for Blaine Equipment, Nevada Department of Transportation and presently with Clark County Department of Road Works. Since 1982, Ron has taught various automotive classes at the College of Southern Nevada, training classes for Instructors at the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles and fleet management classes. In addition, he wrote two published articles on shop management. Ron has chaired the Diesel Education and Steering Committee for the ATTC Center since 1989 and the College of Southern Nevada since 1995.

Robert Schatz is currently supervising Fleet Services for the Las Vegas Valley Water District. Prior to that he co-owned and managed a Tour and Utility Helicopter Company, and an Industrial Technology and Environmental Company servicing the Greater Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii. During his tenure he established the first tire recycling facility in the Pacific. Robert also owned and managed two NAPA Auto Parts Stores and a NAPA AUTOCARE Center in Honolulu, Hawaii for ten years. He served for 21 years in the U. S. Marine Corps and was awarded numerous medals and citations, including the Silver Star for heroism in Vietnam. He has a Bachelors degree in Business Management, and is certified as an Advanced Certified Fleet Manager in the public sector.

Robert is a member of the Nevada Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Fleet Managers Association, as Director of Public Fleets for the Association of Equipment Management Professionals, and as the Vice President of the Las Vegas Regional Clean Cities Coalition.

Marty O’Connor has been with Haycock Petroleum since 1991 and has served as a Sales Representative and a Sales Manager prior to being named Vice-President of Fleet Fueling in 1999. Marty came to Las Vegas via Bronx, NY where she and her husband owned and operated an Irish Bakery. Prior to her bakery experience, Marty taught elementary and middle school in Ohio from 1972 to 1984. She is a graduate of Ohio Dominican College.

Since 2001, Clete Kus has served as the City's Transportation Planner providing direction on current and future multi-modal transportation issues. Prior to joining the City, he was a Principal Planner for Clark County Comprehensive Planning for 12 years and was instrumental preparing the Clark County's Alternative Fuel Strategy which spurred the conversion of governmental vehicles to operate on alternative fuels and establishing public fueling infrastructure. Clete is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP), has been appointed to the Executive Advisory Committee of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers and a charter member of the Las Vegas Regional Clean Cities Coalition (LVRCCC) since its inception in 1993.

Jack Owens, recently retired after 27 years, was the General Manager for Yellow-Checker-Star Transportation (YCS), the largest cab service in southern Nevada. Owens ran all taxi fleets with the alternative fuel, propane, saving the Las Vegas Valley from more than 945 tons of carbon monoxide and particulate matter per year. As a member of the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Regional Clean Cities Coalition, Jack spends countless hours spearheading educational and outreach programs promoting clean air practices and policies.  He is currently President of his own consulting firm.


Wayne Meissner, Director

Wayne Meissner is currently the Maintenance manager for Jacobs Engineering, which has over 55,000 employees world wide. He is the past Maintenance  Administrator for the Regional Transportation Commission and was in this position for over 16 years. Prior to that, he was the Maintenance Superintendent for Clark County for 8 years and the Maintenance Supervisor for the Clark County Sanitation District for 2 years. Wayne’s previous experience includes being a diesel mechanic, managing a trucking firm, and the owner/operator of a tire dealership, service station, and garage and towing service. Wayne was the Chairman of the Nevada Association of Fleet Managers from 1990 to 1994 and the Membership Chairman from 1988 to 1989. During that time, he was also involved in other programs offered by the Nevada Association of Fleet Managers. He is currently a member of the Las Vegas Regional Clean Cities Coalition (LVRCCC) and has been since its inception in 1993. Wayne is the Chairman of the LVRCCC Vehicle and Infrastructure Committee.

 


Dennis Ransel, Director

Dennis Ransel is the Manager of the of Air Quality Planning Division for the Clark County Department of Air Quality and Environmental Management (DAQEM). He has been with Clark County since 1994, working mostly with air quality planning and mobile sources programs. Prior to coming to Clark County, Dennis served in the U.S. Air Force as a supply and logistics manager. He has worked with the County’s alternative fuels program, helping to develop the natural gas fueling infrastructure and to advance the acquisition and use of alternative fuel vehicles in fleets throughout the County. His current responsibilities in the DAQEM Planning Division include the development and implementation of air quality plans to attain national ambient air quality standards in Clark County.

Jim Zeimet has been with the Clark County Water Reclamation District for 25 years. For the past 19 years, he has been their Fleet Maintenance Supervisor. Jim is ASE certified in 15 areas; including heavy-duty trucks, automotive, and compressed natural gas. Jim was a member of the Nevada Association of Fleet Managers for 16 years. He is currently a member of the Las Vegas Regional Clean Cities Coalition (LVRCCC) and has been since 1993.
