"Offering biodiesel for public consumption makes good sense for environmental reasons," says Bud Blackmore, Senior Vice President for Marketing at Sinclair Oil Corporation.
Renewable materials such as vegetable oil and recycled food grease can be made into biofuel, which is an organically produced product. The biofuel is then blended with diesel to make biodiesel, which is safer for the environment, less polluting than regular diesel, and biodegradable. Biodiesel may be used in any vehicles designed to operate on diesel fuel, requiring no engine modification. There are more than 6,000 fleet vehicles operating on biodiesel in Clark County, including over 1,400 school buses operated by the Clark County School District.
B-5, a biodiesel blend of 5% biofuel and 95% #2 diesel is available to the general public in Southern Nevada at the retail locations shown below. The Haycock Petroleum facility on W. Bonanza Road sells B-5, however it is a 24/7 card lock location. To purchase fuel at this location, use your Haycock Petroleum fuel card or complete a fueling card application on the Haycock website www.haycockpetroleum.com.
B-99 is available at the Haycock Petroleum facility on N. Sloan Lane near Nellis Air Force Base.
